Cheryl Turner
Alcohol Inks and Mixed Media Art
Vibrant Intuitive Art | Workshops

About Me
Hi, my name is Cheryl Turner, and I am a self-taught mixed media and alcohol ink artist based in Oxford Mills, Ontario, near Kemptville. My artwork is inspired by nature, colour, movement and the emotions that can be found in the ever-changing world around us.

I work primarily with alcohol inks, creating vibrant abstract landscapes, waterscapes and florals that reflect nature’s energy and emotion. I am drawn to the fluid and unpredictable nature of alcohol ink and the way the colours move, blend and interact with one another. My process is intuitive, allowing the inks to guide the direction of each piece rather than trying to completely control the outcome.

I occasionally add another dimension to my artwork using texture, papers, pen and various mixed-media techniques. I enjoy experimenting with different materials and techniques and discovering how unexpected combinations can add depth, interest and a sense of movement to my work.

My abstract landscapes and waterscapes are often inspired by the beauty and feeling of being surrounded by nature — from peaceful shorelines and gentle water movement to expansive skies and woodland scenes. My floral pieces allow me to explore colour, movement and the expressive qualities of flowers in a more intuitive way.

As an artist in the North Grenville and surrounding area, I enjoy being part of a supportive and creative local arts community. I am a proud member of the Merrickville Artists Guild and served as Vice President of the North Grenville Arts Guild for 2025/26. I continue to explore and grow through teaching alcohol ink workshops, exhibiting my artwork, learning new techniques and connecting with fellow artists in my community and beyond.

My work includes original alcohol ink and mixed-media artwork, prints and other art-inspired pieces. I enjoy sharing my creative process with others and hope my artwork brings a sense of colour, feeling and connection to the spaces it becomes part of.

Basic Intuitive Alcohol Ink Workshop

To be posted soon

No experience needed - just curiosity, an open mind and a willingness to play. We will explore how to let go of control and let the inks move intuitively to create beautiful, organic effects to create a landscape or a field of flowers created on synthetic paper. All supplies are included.
